Clinical Bed Management - Registered Nurse: Advocate Health Care

Job Description:
To ensure that patients admitted to the hospital meet the requirements for acute care. Facilitates assignment of patient to appropriate level of care or to alternate treatment. Collaborates with physicians, nurses, patient care areas and the Bed Coordination Office (BCO). For activities related to the bed management of the hospital.
Accountabilities:
1. Coordinate housewide bedflow to ensure the timely and appropriate bed assignment of all inpatient/outpatient and emergency services patients occurs.

3. Assist with data collection for reports generated from Bed Coordination
4. Act as an expert resource for personnel in BCO, and a liaison between the Bed Coordination Office and nursing units.
5. Initiate census alerts.
6. Applies admission criteria, to all admits, to assess the appropriateness of the requested admission. Ensures appropriate hospital utilization in accordance with Health and Human Service regulations, payment class requirements
7. Responsible for professional growth.
