Basic Qualifications: Must have two or more years experience in negotiating or purchasing.

Preferences:
Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) certification. Demonstrated proficiency working with SAP software in a purchasing environment. Demonstrated IT hardware purchasing background experience.
Typical Responsibilities: The successful candidate will represent the Southern California Edison (SCE) as an authorized agent and primary contact in transactions involving the purchase, lease, or licensing of: materials, supplies, services, technology, and/or equipment. Typical responsibilities include: developing, negotiating, and administrating moderately complex procurement contracts, purchase orders, and requests for proposals; negotiating and developing amendments/change orders that amend contracts/purchase orders; interpreting contract/purchase order provisions, and resolving disputes, invoicing and payment problems; providing advice to management on the contractual implications of actions taken by suppliers, contractors, or internal clients; ensuring achievement of the best value to the Company by coordinating and directing the competitive bid process and making sound, logical recommendations for contract/purchase order awards of moderate value; providing advice, recommendations, and solutions to internal clients concerning the most cost-effective and/or appropriate method of acquiring their material, equipment and/or service requirements; providing leadership, facilitation, and collaboration with suppliers and internal IT organization business partners; achieving total cost reductions, cost savings, and supplier diversity goals; establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with external suppliers, contractors, and consultants, as well as internal Corporate managers, supervisory and non-supervisory personnel; participating in or leading strategic sourcing studies, forecasts, and cost projections with moderate impact on business and operational strategy; receiving coaching, training, mentorship or functional guidance from senior-level procurement agents; developing and delivering presentations; and performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
