Key Components:
- Provide leadership of CCUSA’s accounting functions
- Staff the Board Treasurer, Finance Committee and its Investment Committee and Audit Committee
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, reports, and analysis
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the preparation of the annual budget, monitor and control CCUSA divisions performance against budget to control operating and capital costs
- Prepare fairly presented and timely financial statements and ensure appropriate supporting documentation
- Be knowledgeable and current on all FASB as they relate to non-profit financial accounting
- Perform complex financial analysis and evaluate operating results with regard to cash flow, costs, budgets utilization of resources, organizational productivity, etc.
- Direct the preparation of and/or prepare statistics for periodic and yearly financial statements, including the preparation of charts and graphs showing progress, conditions, and results
- Oversee timely monthly closings
- Prepare and direct the annual audit to ensure CCUSA receives unqualified independent CPA audit reports
- Embrace CCUSA’s values and the behaviors that support the values
- Develop a competent, well-trained, properly structured and highly motivated staff capable of achieving departmental and organizational goals.
- Establish and communicate performance standards and goals and provide staff with timely and constructive feedback.
- Provide coaching and technical information to ensure a knowledgeable and skilled staff
- Develop and provide internal financial training to cost center managers
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Review and file state and federal reports. Coordinate with outside specialists as necessary
- Coordinate staff activities and foster collaborative efforts across departments
Primary Skills:
- Expert knowledge and ability to apply General Accounting Accepted Principles (GAAP) procedures and practices
- Knowledge of Federal Contracting
- Computer literacy; competency in spread sheets and automated accounting systems, preferably Great Plains
- Strong analytic and problem-solving skills

Minimum Education:
- BA in accounting; CPA or Master’s preferred (or equivalent experience)
Minimum Experience:
- Ten years accounting experience, preferably in association or non-profit organizations; four years supervisory/management experience
Special Working Conditions:
