APPLICATION DEVELOPER

The Virginia Housing Development Authority is looking for a qualified Application Developer to join its Information Technology Services Division. This mid-level role will work on assigned project teams providing technical guidance and support. We are seeking a qualified individual that can act as a technical expert while demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interact with other technical staff and the user community.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; equivalent experience acceptable
  • 3-5 years of experience with business application design, development, installation, and modification with the Microsoft .Net platform
  • Strong knowledge and proven experience of object oriented analysis and design; and N-Tier development
  • Proven Experience with Visual Studio 2005/2008 and .Net 2.0, 3.0 or 3.5 Framework including ASP.Net and C#
  • Knowledge of project management techniques is required (cross-functional experience is highly desirable)
  • Experience designing distributed applications, SOA and Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with Team Foundation Server
  • Knowledge of waterfall SDLC and Agile methodologies
  • Experience with MVC, MVP design patterns
  • Experience with Object Relational Mapping tools, specifically, LINQ to SQL or Entity Framework
  • WSS, MOSS 2007, SharePoint development experience
  • MCSD
