Job Description:

  • Responsible for serving as liaison between Harris IT Services and the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command to ensure continuing site support and services for the Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS) Operations Control System (DOCS) and Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) and Commercial Satellite Network Control (CSNC).
  • Responsible for site support and services consisting of on-site coverage and technical assistance, on-call coverage and technical assistance, depot and supply services, training services, logistic services, communications analysis, hardware maintenance services, software, firmware, database support services, and computer system administration.
  • Facilities are located worldwide and support the DSCS Operations Centers (DSCSOCs), Global Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Support Center (GSSC), Regional Space Support Centers (RSSCs), Global Network Operation Security Centers (GNOSC), Regional Network Operation Security Centers (RNOSCs), US Army Communications and Electronics Command (USACECOM), Project Manager Certification Facility (DCF), US Army Signal Center and Fort Gordon, and Satellite Earth Terminals.
  • May work at client sites on a day-to-day or periodic basis.
  • Scope of responsibility spans all project activities from project identification, qualification and subsequent award through successful delivery and follow-on support.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and schedule impacts, providing preventative direction, recovery planning and customer involvement, as required.
  • Prepare project plans, schedules, reports, presentations and related communications for both customer and company management, utilizing Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Excel and Word tools.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction of information technology solutions by managing the details of overall project schedules, budgets and deliverables.
  • Support efforts to identify and respond to project-related requests for proposal/information with well-crafted proposals, supportable pricing, responsible scheduling, cost control, scope changes and overall direction.
  • Typically uses more project management skills than technical skills.

Qualifications:

  • Successful candidates will have a Bachelors degree and 9 years relevant professional experience; or commensurate education and experience.
  • Program Manager must have DSCS operations background and be a savvy technologist in order to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers, and company management.
  • This is a highly visible and responsible position requiring superior communications skills, methodical project planning and execution, innovative thinking, and inspiring leadership.
  • General computer experience, managing and directing staff, knowledge of budgets.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Prior experience at US Army SATCOM/53rd Signal Battalion is desired.
  • Masters and/or PMP certification desired.

This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a TS/SSBI security clearance. In order to obtain a clearance you need to be a U.S. Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
