Mechanical Engineer/Department Manager Job Description: We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for an experienced mechanical engineer to manage our Mechanical Department within our Facilities Business Unit in our Boise, ID office. We are a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm who is experiencing unprecedented growth. We recently ranked 70th on Engineering News Record's Top 500 Design Firms list and 6th on their Top 10 in Food Processing list. In this leadership position, you will: ·Be accountable for department morale and professional development ·Balance resources with workload ·Provide department staff management and leadership ·Coordinate interfaces with other departments, area leads, division managers and other company divisions ·Apply diverse and intensive knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignment ·Devise new approaches to engineering design problems Ideal candidate will serve as a liaison with peers inside and outside the company and will act independently on technical matters pertaining to mechanical responsibility. Responsibilities will also include collaborating with different disciplines to successfully complete conceptual and overall design of a process or facility, as well as upgrades to existing facilities. Familiarity with food processing equipment, including knowledge of manufacturing technology, range of process equipment, food and beverage equipment standards and their applicability to food and beverage equipment and systems design is a plus.
