We currently have an opening for a Patient Account Representative in Indiana, PA.
Duties include:
- Work patient accounts by statusing claims online via the web or by phone calls to the insurance companies and patients.
- Status claims using a focused approach by location and patient type (i.e. workers comp, BCBS, Medicare, etc.)
- Re-file corrected claims with supporting documentation as necessary.
- Print denied work list to review and research denials to determine reason and send corrected claims and appropriate documentation as necessary.
- Review all explanation of benefits (EOB) denials for zero payment and partial payments.
- Report non-payment trend to reimbursement Supervisor in order to communicate issues to upper management for investigation and resolve.
- Complete necessary documentation required for appeals to third party payors.
- Assist with various systems clean-up projects.
- Monitor cash collected on a daily basis for location assignments.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED and minimum of one year of computer and high volume medical billing and/or insurance claims processing or equivalent.
