Paralegal/Legal Assistant IV



Must have equivalent experience as a Paralegal/legal assistant/Legal Technician. Must be proficient in using computer equipment and software, e.g., Microsoft Office Access, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word. Must have excellent verbal, telephone, and written communication skills.

The incumbent must perform including but not limited to the following:

· Familiarity with legal documents (i.e., complaints, judgments) required;
· Establishes, maintains, analyzes, and evaluates case files for worthiness and appropriate titles of law;
· Notes and corrects case file deficiencies (e.g., missing documents, inconsistent material, leads not investigated) before sending the case on to the concerned attorney;
· Reviews documents, cross-check information
· Reviews and analyzes available precedents relevant to cases under investigation for use in presenting case summaries to attorneys;
· Gathers, sorts, classifies, and interprets data to discover possible patters;
· Interviews relevant personnel to gather information;
· Selects, summarizes, and compiles comparative data to examine and evaluate respondent’s deficiencies in order to provide evidence of illegal practices or patterns;
· Assists determination of the need for additional information, independent surveys, evidence, and witnesses.
· Enters data into computerized systems;
· Searches electronic databases (e.g., SEC internal databases, Lexis, Westlaw), Internet;
· Identifies types of record keeping systems and types of records maintained which would be relevant. Gathers, sorts, and interprets data from various record systems including computer information systems;
· Performs statistical evaluations. Prepares charts, graphs, and tables to illustrate results;
· Assists in analyzing documents, preparing for interviews and otherwise provide assistance in conducting investigatory work; and
· Works and interacts professionally and effectively with all levels of management and staff in completing assignments.
