Position Title: Sr Scientist

Job Description:

· Plans a series of experiments, testing several variables, in order to demonstrate the feasibility of an idea or to develop a specific product after feasibility has been addressed. Supervisory assistance should only be required in setting the general questions to be addressed or deciding the products to be developed.

· An “expert” in several different fields of research and used as a resource by other R & D staff with respect to their areas of expertise.

· Performs MedLine and patent searches to select relevant publications.

· Presents public seminars including background and a comprehensive set of complex experimental results, analyses and conclusions to other scientists.

· Maintains an accurate and detailed lab notebook that allows another scientist to reproduce their experiments.

· Prepare monthly reports for the supervisor.

· Writes newsletter articles, manuals, scientific publications and patent applications with minimal assistance from the supervisor.

· Attends tradeshows as an Ambion representative.

· Maintains or improves current products.

· Conceive of new products and ideas.
