Technology Consultant

Work collaboratively with partners to position EMC Technologies and Services into their existing offerings and create new mutually beneficial offerings. Collaborate with Client Solutions Leads, Sales, Marketing, Corporate, and/or Partners to assess customer business operations and develop and propose fully integrated technology solutions. Recognized as a divisional expert on particular technical issues or specific business applications within a practice area. Provides technical leadership and direction to pre and post-sales teams within assigned division. Acts as a lead consultant responsible for major project management and/or the technical development of divisional practice staff members. Interface with customer's senior management to assess major business operations and address product/service needs. Consults with engineering to answer customer's questions and remove objections that arise in a sales campaign.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Gathers sufficient product information and functional application of EMC products, appropriate to the customer's industry, including success stories and best practices. Prioritizes activities and selects solutions that are most likely to resonate with the partner. Provides pre-sales solution presentations and training sessions that will convince business people and technical experts of the value of the solution. Quantifies operational, financial, and business advantages of the proposed solution for the customer. Demonstrates the advantages of the proposed solution as it relates to the customer's business challenges. Acts as primary interface between corporate engineering/development and the field. Interfaces regularly with the Global Practice Lead to remain abreast of and give input to emerging technology solutions. Anticipates technology and/or market trends and provides guidance to customers on their application. Provides feedback of business requirements to EMC's engineering and marketing organizations.

EMC Proven Professional Certification desired.

Skills:

Education Required: Bachelors (Tech) or equivalent

Experience Required: 8-12 Years

Strategic planning abilities

Leadership, Interpersonal, Teaming, and Communication skills

Consultative skills combined with strong technical knowledge

Proven ability to innovate from a business and technical perspective

Understanding of EMC's products and their value added to the customer

Solid history of performance
