As the SAP Technical Lead, you will provide technical guidance, mentorship, and SAP best practices knowledge to the Global SAP Competency Centre’s SAP technical team for the provision of SAP solutions and associated services to Global and Regional LS&CO. business units. You will execute SAP strategies for the implementation, expansion, development, maintenance and support of the SAP Technical area. Responsibilities include:- Provide timely and effective Level 3 production support to SAP users throughout LS&CO. – issues and problems identified, responded to, resolved and escalated within agreed service level commitments.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of global SAP development standards and monitoring of adherence to these by any regional SAP support hubs as well as by 3rd parties engaged to perform SAP related activities.
- Leverage best practices in SAP solution and service delivery
- Ensure that SAP technical activities (e.g. ABAP development) maximize the use and adoption of standard SAP solutions and minimize the ongoing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for maintenance and upgrade of the SAP solution.
- Contribute to the provision of a robust, reliable and effective SAP system for LS&CO. users as measured by established service levels.
- Manage and participate in implementation projects.
- Effectively work with service providers, Prioritize project deliverables, Determine implementation approaches, provide guidance to use SAP best practices,
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities - Lead and work with internal SAP technical team in the US as well as 3rd party resources who will be working in a global delivery model.
- Work collaboratively with IT staff, especially via the Regional SAP Support Hubs functioning globally.
- Participate, Execute, and manage SAP projects that extend the functionality or geographic use of the system in support of the business processes.
- Provide SAP best practice guidance and solutions to business users, functional users,, and technical team members.
- Work effectively and efficiently with upper management.
To qualify, you’ll need a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience) coupled with 8+ years designing, developing, testing and deploying application solutions. A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience within SAP which include multiple implementation projects as wells as exposure to an SAP support environment and Netweaver technologies. The right candidate will have the demonstrated ability to apply extensive technical expertise, will have good understanding of SDLC process, and will have strong project management skills.. Experience: - SAP technical team lead experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of SDLC process, Workflow development, and Project Management experience.
- Netweaver technology (Portal, PI etc..), and xAPP is a plus.
- SAP Certification and SAP ECC experience is preferred.
- Consolidation of regional SAP system to global instance is also preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Knowledge of SDLC process is preferred.
- SAP ABAP experience that includes but not limited to interface and conversion development, EDI/ALE/IDOC, ALV reporting, workflow, User-Exit, enhancement, smartform, Sapscript, BAPI, RFCs development.
- AFS would be a plus but not mandatory.
- Solution Manager, netweaver technologies, Xapp would be a big plus.
- Experience with Archiving in SAP is a an asset.
- Ability to understand and explain to others the cross-functional and global implications of business process decisions and their implementation in a global SAP environment.
- Ability to establish and maintain credibility with the business and functional resources.
- Ability to work with diverse teams including 3rd party resources in remote locations.
- Ability to provide strong facilitation for teams and across teams
- Strong written and oral communication skills and an open communication style.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong execution skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure, deliver quality results within standards and meet deadlines.
