Job Description:
Serve in a dual role capacity; SQL Server (DBA) and Application Support Specialist for a 24/7 mission critical systems - MISLE. The candidate will be working in a production environment as well as development/test environment, evaluating, installing, upgrading, and configuring databases. Design and execute database backup and recovery procedures including disaster recovery. Configure and maintain SQL jobs and SSIS Packages. Troubleshoot the interaction of Web and Windows applications, reports, and database. Execute ad-hoc queries and generate reports for users in a timely manner. Create and modify stored procedures as data sources for application and reports. Deploy new releases of applications on Windows environments to include scripting, configuration of application components and environments, testing, documentation of activities, and updating code repository. Provide day-to-day technical and functional expertise for both systems. Provide real time feedback during Joint Application Development (JAD) and Technical Working Group (TWG) sessions / meetings. Required to provide technical input for creation of policies, procedures and associated documentation. Provide level of effort estimates to manager for project efforts. Research and investigate problems and develop viable solutions and/or workarounds; report findings and recommendations clearly and effectively to team. Work with the Document Management Specialist to record all routine procedures and update appropriate documentation as needed.

Required Skills
SQL Server 2005/2008 applied experience (3+ years) , DTS/SSIS, and SQL Reporting Services required. Experience and knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 2003 and XP) necessary. Desired. knowledge and experience with Visual Basic .NET, Extensable Markup Language (XML), Web Services.

Position will require limited on-call status to support system requirements, initiatives, or customer requests after hours and during weekends. Candidate must be flexible. Must be intuitive, self-motivated, and demonstrate excellent troubleshooting and advanced interpersonal skills.
Education
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or formal training in SQL Server and applications programing or equivalent work experience.

4-6 years of related experience
Requirements
This position requires applicants to successfully complete the security application process with the intent of gaining a government granted security clearance AND receive a minimum Interim clearance, prior to starting.
