We are looking for a Project Manager II for our headquarters in Oakland, CA. The ideal person in this position will be able to partner with cross-functional executives throughout the Credit Union to ensure the successful coordination and execution of Credit Union initiatives. A strong focus on customer service with exceptional organizational and communication skills is essential to delivering initiatives on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:

Utilize Project Management Institute (PMI) standards to guide team through all phases of project management.

Project Evaluation/Planning

Work with various departments to transform business concepts into business requirements, leading to project implementation plans and timelines.

· Develop project charter to include:

§ Assessment of project owner needs

§ Identification of risks/constraints and mitigation strategies for each

§ Identification of required resources, negotiate time commitments

§ Identification of post-implementation performance metrics

§ Identification of deliverables

§ Document scope

· Build project plan

Project Execution

Maintain current status of projects, both strategic and operational, and prepare periodic reports on project status to executive management.

  • Provide leadership, motivate, and manage multi-disciplinary teams
  • Monitor and report progress against plan
  • Manage scope change

Quality Control

  • Produce and execute test scripts for manual and automated processes.
  • Assemble testing teams and guide them through the test scripts.
  • Execute tests of various programs and processes to verify that all operate according to user requirements and conform to credit union guidelines.
  • Track defects.

Project Implementation

  • Documentation
  • Training

Post Implementation

  • Conduct post-implementation reviews to determine overall project success and deficiencies. Develop and modify future implementation procedures accordingly.

§ Identify/document lessons learned

§ Measure actual results against initial metrics

  • Guide Project Manager I in drafting charter on large-scale projects, or full execution of small-scale projects.
  • Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of testing, defects, and projects.
  • Become a subject matter expert on how the internal systems for CFCU work, and how they relate to business goals and objectives.
  • Act as liaison, problem solver, and facilitator.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university.

· Four years of project management experience or training.

· Additional experience may substitute for education.

· PMP certification a plus.

· Practical knowledge of software testing methodology with a requirement of 2+ years designing and implementing test plans, scripts, and scenarios.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills needed in order to document and communicate issues clearly.

· Ability to write concise reports and correspondence using correct spelling and grammar.

  • Ability to read and interpret information on systems and documents such as account information, written agreements, vendor contracts, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to produce and interpret graphs.
  • Proficient in the use of basic applications in a Windows-based environment.
  • Ability to effectively use all applicable banking and loan systems.
  • Ability to effectively utilize Outlook and employee Intranet.

· Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

· Ability to understand issues and defects, and determine best possible solution.

· Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills.
