Responsible for the development and maintenance of business relationships of assigned customers. Serving in a service/consultative capacity ensures customer satisfaction, retention, contract renewal, revenue maintenance, revenue enhancement by cross selling to maximize wallet share, and ongoing evaluation and design of a customer's benefit plans and strategy, through the relationships established with Customer personnel.
  • Engages problem solving to ensure the match between customer's core needs and corporate services, determines future needs, recommends modifications to existing product/service lines, and implements an action plan.
  • Serves as information resource to customers, sales support, marketing, and management regarding sales activity and ongoing operations.
  • Provides continual education and consultation to the customer and producer, through proactive contacts, follow-up on outstanding issues, and professional contract negotiations.
  • Actively seeks out opportunities to provide appropriate new products and services to maximize wallet share through cross selling.
  • Manages stewardship, and is accountable in conjunction with the Sales Executive, for the renewal strategy and goals across all departments and the customer.
  • Actively participates in outside industry related functions, committees or business groups, enhancing the visibility and image of UMR to the business community.
  • Identifies current and future customer and producer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand customer requirements.
  • Directs internal units to ensure appropriate services are being delivered at an appropriate cost. Indirectly manages service deliverables across department lines to manage process and meet performance targets.
  • Participate in or represent account management in special projects.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

�Bachelor�s degree, or equivalent work experience required.�A minimum of 3 years of progressively more responsible sales and/or service experience.�CEBS certification preferred.�State health and life licenses required within 3 months from position start date. Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:�Solid understanding of underwriting and pricing practices and fundamentals.�Interacts with customer, producer, and internal UMR contacts with little or no assistance.�Ability to handle complex situations, deliver renewals, cross sell on existing groups, etc.�Develops and maintains a high level of expertise in account service/consultative selling techniques, product knowledge, procedures, and administration.�Ability to be proactive, self-motivated, detail-oriented, creative and work with minimum supervision.�Demonstrates an ongoing commitment to education, training, and development activities especially in the leadership area.�Demonstrates effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.�Demonstrates superior interpersonal, communication, and group presentation skills.�Ability to analyze and think through issues thoroughly, identify alternative responses, and bring about an effective solution.�Demonstrates a high degree of customer focus and attention to service.�Projects a positive, team oriented attitude towards customers, vendors, producers, consultants and associates, both internally and externally.�Strong working ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.Job Requirements/Working Conditions:�Work is performed in a normal office environment.�Ability and willingness to work irregular and unusual hours.�Must be able to travel regularly and be willing to fly; must maintain an excellent driving record.
