| Job Description: |   | The MTVN Digital Research Group has an opportunity for a Digital Research Senior Manager of MTV 360. This position will manage the quantitative and competitive research function as it pertains to the programming and events featured on MTV.com, MTV2.com, MTVTr3s, MTVU, and related vertical sites. Reporting to the Digital Research Director of Music & Logo, this individual will be required to perform in-depth analyses of internal traffic data across all MTV properties, extract and analyze third-party data from numerous sources to provide competitive intelligence based on key demographics as well as market trends like social networking, blogs, and widgets. This individual will ensure overall research requirements of business groups are met efficiently and timely; adhering to MTVN reporting standards and sharing knowledge of best practices. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Creating, analyzing, and distributing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports across all MTV web properties including detailed reporting on music & news, programming such as The Hills and True Life along with tentpole events like the MTV Video Music Awards. Creating, analyzing, and distributing monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports specific to MTV's competitors as it relates to music, programming, and events. Present actionable insights based on internal performance and competitive position to senior management. Build & maintain strong relationships with site producers and digital team at-large. Cultivate knowledge of MTV & competitive programming to inform digital opportunities. | | Required Qualification/Skills: |   | Specific skills and requirements include: 5-7 years of related media research experience. Bachelor degree or higher. Strong understanding of new media and the digital industry. Including familiarity with Internal Web tracking solutions (Omniture SiteCatalyst) and syndicated research sources (comScore Media Metrix, Nielsen//NetRatings, @Plan, Jupiter, Forrester, Hitwise, etc). Strategic thinker with excellent analytical, written, and verbal skills. Ability to work independently and within a team striving towards a common goal. Ability to spearhead a project, troubleshoot, and thoroughly manage it through to completion. Ability to manage expectations, inform, and provide insights and recommendations to a large internal team.
