Volunteers of America Delaware Valley, Inc. is a not for profit organization. Its dedicated and highly integrated teams pioneer evidence-based interventions that help individuals in difficulty to transition back into the community and lead successful lives. The agency operates 43 community-based programs and services in South-eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware to provide assistance to needy children, the elderly, the homeless and those with chronic mental health issues together with ex-offenders returning to society. Nationwide Volunteers of America offers more than 100 different kinds of services in approximately 300 communities touching the lives of more than 1.7 million people a year. The position of Program Director 3 will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will become a vital part of their team. They will provide leadership and ensure the integrity of programs. They will take responsibility for the administration and operations of programs and be accountable for the general welfare of staff and clients. They will also be responsible for reporting procedures and appropriate fiscal management. They will oversee the supervision of staff and their recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, and scheduling. Only those applicants with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree should apply. They will ensure contract compliance and a positive relationship with funding source(s) and will represent Volunteers of America Delaware Valley and actively participate on appropriate external coalitions, committees, and meetings. They will also prepare recommendations for the annual budget with input from direct reports anticipating personnel and operational needs for the upcoming fiscal year. The successful applicant will have a Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services related field, plus three years of relevant management experience. They must have effective written and verbal communications skills, solid organizational skills with the ability to multi-task together with leadership qualities, sound judgment, and flexibility.
