Hours: 4x10 M-TH (6:30 am to 5:00 pm)

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for preparing permit modification requests (i.e., update of description of a process, revision of procedures, waste analysis plan, and/or sampling and analytical plan, etc.); interpreting technical documents to generate concise and clear narrative description of changes and rationale for why changes are needed; administering, developing and maintaining databases, creating and analyzing data queries for statistical reports, and developing query models; overseeing project-related environmental activities as assigned (including providing technical assistance to office and field operations to ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State and/or Company environmental regulations); preparing/reviewing of test plans, technical reports, correspondence and procedure manuals; assisting in the maintenance of various permits; and may conduct investigations to obtain data for use by the Company, client, and environmental and scientific personnel in determining sources and methods of controlling pollutants in air, water and soil. The scope of work for this position will be based on selected grade and requires a Bachelor degree in related field (or equivalent experience) and 0 - 5 years relevant experience (Grade DOE) with knowledge of RCRA, DOT, CWA, CAA, database management, etc. Must be a US Citizen.

REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

· Grade 11: Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Health or Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering or demonstrated equivalent.

· Grade 13: Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Health or Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering or demonstrated equivalent and 3+ years of experience.

· Grade 14: Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Health or Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering or demonstrated equivalent and 5+ years of experience.

· Proficient in the use of computers and database development and management; and ability to prepare high quality, comprehensive and error-free documents and reports. Ability to work in Access and Crystal Reports highly desired.

· Experience in the environmental field with direct chemical agent demil experience highly desirable.

· Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility for implementation of permitting actions and completing projects with minimum supervision.

· Ability to understand regulatory/permit requirements and prepare documents that satisfy all requirements.

· Demonstrated knowledge of Waste Analysis Plan, QA, and data quality objectives desired.

· Diverse knowledge of environmental principles.

· Ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally.

· Ability to work as a team member and independently.

· Ability to accept and implement guidance with minimal assistance.

· Ability to understand technical documents and resolve issues with responsible organizations.

· Good interpersonal skills in working with various Project personnel.

Licenses/Certifications:

· None required.

Must be a U.S. or Naturalized citizen.

Experience in a toxic/hazardous environment desired.

This position is requires a National Agency Clearance. As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, urinalysis testing, and must meet and maintain personnel suitability and reliability requirements established by Army Regulations.
