San Diego, CA Job Description : Performs all technical duties related to the production of histo-pathological slides. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Prepares reagents
• Monitors equipment for malfunctions
• Performs section cutting on all types of case.
• Pulls controls and performs pre- and post-staining preparatory and finishing procedures
• Performs image analysis
• Performs some special stains
• Grosses some specimens according to standard operating procedures
• Maintains inventory
• Operates automated equipment including Benchmarks, Autostainers, image analysis systems and tissue processors
• Identifies and tests new controls
• Participates in some quality control
• Performs other job related duties as assigned
Job Requirements : Normally an Associate’s Degree with some experience in Histology, or a High School Diploma with 3+ years histology experience. Additional qualification include the following:
• Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with other staff;
• Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness;
• Apply critical thinking to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions;
• Gathers and analyzes information skillfully;
• Adapts to change in the work environment;
• Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
A Bachelor's Degree with 1-3 years of experience in Histology, and meet all licenses necessary for Histology preferred. |
