Our client, a provider of nylon and polyester yarns for various end uses, is seeking a Product Development Manager. This position will be based in the Triad Region of North Carolina.

Overview

The Product Development Manager will focus on specialty polyester fiber products. Utilizing polymer additives, cross-sections, denier, and recycled polymer, products will be developed and introduced into the marketplace.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine meetings with direct and down-stream customers with the goal of understanding their needs and developing new products.
  • Stay current on competitive products.
  • Determine which development projects have priority based on financial impact to the company.
  • Work closely with Marketing to develop sales strategies.
  • Monitor process conditions with operations on all new products.
  • Work closely with customers to develop polyester yarns that will meet their requirements.
  • Travel to vendors, customers, and trade shows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Textiles or a related field.
  • 10-15 years of experience in project management.
  • Experience with POY development a plus.
  • Technical understanding of overall texturing a plus.
