JOB TITLE: VP/Group Director, Business Development

DEPARTMENT: Business Development

ACCOUNTABILITY: Executive Vice President, Strategy & New Business

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for developing and executing high-impact sales strategies in new and existing client organizations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Networks, positions and/or markets Digitas Health to targeted new pharmaceutical, medical device, bioscience, and consumer health prospects
o Carefully selects and evaluates the merits of RFPs within non-customer accounts and manages vetting and response criteria.
o Leads the sales process on all new business initiatives, directing team selling activities.
o Collaborates with the SVP/VP Marketing Managers, Creative Directors, Delivery Managers, and Account Planners to develop sales plans to enhance account penetration.
o Provides effective opportunity and conflict management.
o Employs and is responsible for administering database applications to forecast and manage the sales opportunity pipeline and maximize sales efficiency.
o Develops ways to further penetrate accounts by actively developing new account opportunities, client-generated leads, and internal client referrals.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

o Minimum of a Bachelor's degree and/or 10+ years selling within/into the pharmaceutical industry at an executive level.
o A track record of documented sales success required; performing consulting work at an executive level in the pharmaceutical or health media industry a plus.
o Excellent interpersonal and superior communication skills essential.
o Pharmaceutical brand marketing and/or sales experience valuable.
o Recognized within the pharmaceutical industry as an expert on emerging technologies and strategic responses.
o Experience selling a thorough understanding of the impact of digital and direct marketing in the pharmaceutical industry a plus.
o A dynamic and flexible management style is a must.
o Domestic and international travel a must.
