The Virginia Department of Taxation seeks a home-based auditor to research, plan and conduct audits of multi-state corporations to ensure compliance with Virginia Tax laws. This position is located in Philadelphia , PA and surrounding metro area. This challenging position requires creativity, motivation and the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment. No relocation costs provided.

Minimum qualifications for this job opportunity include:

• Considerable knowledge of auditing principles and techniques as well as federal/state laws and regulations.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices required.
• Must have a proven ability to form and maintain good business partnerships with internal and external customers.
• Must have proficient PC skills using MS Word and Excel, databases and other software programs.
• Ability to write, analyze and interpret comprehensive audit reports/accounting records.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to travel and be away from home overnight. Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to provide own transportation for frequent travel required.
• This position is located in Philly, PA and surrounding metro area. No relocation costs provided.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of Sales and Use Tax is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree (with a minimum of 12 semester hours of accounting) and/or equivalent in a professional auditing or accounting environment preferred.
• Experience working in a field position or experience working in a home-based environment preferred.
