Systems Technician: Air Force Federal Credit Union

Air Force Federal Credit Union is seeking a full-time Systems Technician to work with core software applications, provide help desk support and maintain our main frame operations. Duties include, but are not limited to:

Systems Technician position is non-exempt and can earn up to $22.00/hr depending upon experience.

• Read, understand and apply technical documentation which may include researching, developing and testing software changes/enhancements, utilization of one’s own I.S. and computer knowledge to interpret problems and implement solutions, and developing an advanced knowledge of credit union specific applications to serve as a resource for various I.S. projects and issues.
• Accurately and timely follows, executes, and maintains the operations schedule and job logs. Maintains working knowledge of systems operations for all shifts. Operates and maintains systems printers; troubleshoots system errors to ensure the completion of all required jobs; follows up on Main Frame issues; and provides information to departments on on-line systems’ statuses.
• Researches and provides a timely resolution to outstanding Help Desk trouble tickets.
• Provides timely responsive support to user issues through research and diagnosis of issues and implementation of resolutions involving software, hardware and peripherals; and in-house computer software.
• Researches alternate approaches to existing software and hardware when standardized approaches cannot be applied. Tests software and hardware to evaluate ease of use and whether product will aid user in performing work.
• Installs personal computers, software, hardware, peripherals and components.

Training shift weekdays 6:00am to 3:00pm, regular shift 8:30am to 5:30pm weekdays with scheduled weekend hours and rotating pager support (schedule subject to change).

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalency
• Two years desktop support experience.
• Proficient knowledge of Windows XP and other operating systems & the Internet.
• I.T. project management, Symitar or financial institution experience is a plus.

Requirements:
• Dependable personal transportation.
• Ability to work varied schedules, overtime and weekends, as needed.
• Ability to travel to Credit Union Branch locations (all in San Antonio).
• Accessibility 24-hours a day by pager or telephone, as needed.
• Good consumer credit report.
