Job Description: Qualifications:
BS BS/BA degree in computer science, information systems, health care or related fields desirable. Relevant experience may be substituted for formal training or equivalent certifications/training and demonstrated knowledge.
2 to 5 years to technical work experience in relevant area
Four or more years relevant experience preferred
Proficiency with form design and database and end user support desired
Command of common office tools (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, e-mail)
Basic knowledge of HTML required; intermediate skills desirable
Experience with operating systems desirable, specifically MS Windows 2003 server
Experience with Envision Basic,Datatel computed column syntax, Java, MS SQL, MS Sharepoint
Exposure to MS SQL Server
Exposure to Colleague or other student information systems
Exposure to distance learning software or related learning management tools
Experience as a System administrator desired
Responsibilities
Workflow Analysis, documentation, and integrity
Development of appropriate training materials for end users, trainers, and staff
Serve as a liaison between vendor and client/users
System Administration - Manages the account/file, security, loading releases, ongoing proper usage and training of equipment, software, departmental needs, and user comfort
Database Coordination - Manages the data, query language, codes, and planning for conversions, supports the business in developing query reports for users, leads the shared codes and data standards team
Technical Skills - Develops the specifications, codes, and documents programs for conversions, preprinted forms, supports the business in custom reports and custom applications. Acts as the Subject Matter Expert for the Student Information System application.
Coordination - Provide day-to-day support for the business users and IS internal teams.
Project Planning -Assists PM for project discovery or analysis, encourages collaboration. communicates accurate project status.
Communication & Influencing - Able to document system requirements/functions, assist with user manuals and write status reports. Assists in facilitation of user sessions to determine requirements, review development, or to seek input. Good listener with strong written and oral communication skills.
Business Sense - Understands the functions of related business units and healthcare in general. Knows where to obtain expertise (both IT and business), when knowledge is needed. Translates business problems to technical solutions.
Maintenance and Support - use application tool to modify forms and workflows to meet ongoing needs of the institution. Administer application security and permissions. Create reports and monitor systems. Performs activities needed to maintain the status quo functions of assigned area.
Extended hours and on call duties required.
