Co-Store Manager
Job Description:
Destination Maternity Corporation, a retailer of maternity clothing for today's expecting women has a career opportunity for a Co-Store Manager in the Palisades, New York area. The co-manager is accountable for partnering with the general store manager to generate and maximize sales through UPTs, ADS, Futuretrust, and Parenting, creating a positive shopping experience for the client, and managing the store's visual and operational standards. The co-manager is responsible for prioritizing the store workload, maintaining knowledge of the marketplace, making business recommendations to the general store manager where appropriate, and partnering with the general store manager to recruit/network, hire, train, develop, and retain high performance sales/support teams.
Job Responsibilities:
- Sales Leadership
- Results-Oriented-- Generate sales. Motivate and inspire store team to exceed store sales goals and productivity standards.
- Communications
- Direction-- Ensure Home Office communication/information is received and understood by all team members.
- People Management and Development
- Networking/Recruiting-- Actively network in order to identify qualified, highly skilled, energetic, and enthusiastic candidates.
- Presentation
- Training-- Conduct visual training utilizing the visual presentation guidelines to implement store based decisions.
- Operations
- Operational Standards-- Understand, support, and comply with all company policies and procedures, team member handbook, and other Home Office directives.
Experience/Minimum Requirements
- Two years of prior retail management experience required
- Mobility/ability to travel preferred
- High School diploma required. College degree preferred
- Proficient in the English language
- Ability to operate computer and/or register
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to personally make bank deposits which, in some cases, are to an offsite location
- Prior experience opening credit cards preferred
Physical Demands and Requirements
Able to climb ladder 6-12 feet
Ability to be mobile in a store including standing, walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and/or twisting, for up to eight hours or more per day
Simple grasping, pushing, lifting, and/or carrying things which weigh up to 40 pounds.
