Department Description: The WEA D2C division provides online services to the record labels that enable artists to form direct relationships with fans. The team covers websites development/management, ecommerce, email marketing, data management, web analytics, search engine marketing and mobile web development.
High Level Job Description: As the technical product owner for a portfolio of revenue generating artist and music related websites, this person will spend each day making sure their web properties are as effective as possible in achieving both business goals and user community satisfaction.
Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities: · Responsible for the functional health for a portfolio of revenue generating websites
· Own product priorities and roadmaps, including management of current functionality, vision for the future, and requirement definition and implementation of product changes and enhancements
· Serve as the primary interface between record label / artist stakeholders, WMG business stakeholders and platform implementation partners / development teams
· Translate the technical aspects associated with a complex, hosted web platform into a message/story that business stakeholders can understand
· Anticipate business needs/drivers and translate those needs into an achievable product road map that ensures technical capabilities of products map to business needs
· Provide daily guidance to stakeholders on devising effective and efficient approaches to achieve the business objectives
· Serve as a subject matter expert for the consumer and social web
· Serve as a subject matter expert for WMG’s current and future platform capabilities
Required Competencies/Skills: Candidate will have substantial Web strategy experience including a minimum of 8 years of leadership in Web and software technical product management, ideally in a new media, publishing, or social networking company. A deep understanding of current market leaders is critical. The candidate must have a strong grasp of their content and technology strategies and best practices for providing web-based products for business leaders. In addition, the successful candidate must be capable of translating business needs into sound user stories and requirements to enable the rapid creation of on-target solutions. Candidate will have a proven record of working with highly functional and usable consumer facing web software.
