Community Advocate

Berkshire County ARC is seeking candidates to fill our
Community Advocate position: Do you love the
outdoors? Do you wish you could share your hobbies
with others? If you answered YES to both of these
then BCARC is the place for you. A Community
Advocate assists individuals with disabilities to
become involved and contributing members of their
community. You would be responsible for the
development, implementation and monitoring of
Community Integration, Individual Support Plans and
Curriculum Development for teaching individuals to
achieve their personal goals. Qualifications: Bachelors
Degree in education, Human Services, psychology,
social work or other related field and two years
experience with developmentally disabled population,
with one year being direct care. *Five years of
progressive employment in the field may be
substituted for the Bachelors Degree. Some
supervisory responsibilities. Valid US drivers license
required. Hours are Sunday 8am-4pm and Monday
through Thursday 11:00am-7:00pm (flexible with some
shifts). Salary is $28,600 - $29,500.
