Title AMBULATORY DATA ANALYST II

Description Analyzes, abstracts, and enters into automated information system all data pertinent to ambulatory patient visits in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. Retrieves, copies and processes requests for external audits and reviews including; MassPro, Blue Cross, Medicare and other related requests. Responsible for CPT-4 coding and modifier validation for APC reimbursement.

Requirements Minimum 1 –2 years work experience in a hospital or clinic setting. Previous medical record experience preferred. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to deal with departmental staff as well as clinical site staff. Must be organized, able to make decisions, work independently and able to function under designated time constraints. Working and proven knowledge of medical terminology. Data entry accuracy required. Knowledge of ICD-9-CM, diagnosis and procedure coding as well as CPT-4 coding and modifiers preferred. Understanding of APC coding and reimbursement methodology a plus.
