Sr. Environmental Underwriter: ACE Limited/ACE INA

Details of this critical opening follow:

A. KEY OBJECTIVE: Under limited supervision, primary responsibility is to underwrite environmental lines of business including General Liability, Premises Pollution Liability, Contractors Pollution Liability, Professional Liability, Products Pollution Liability, and Excess liability, and other lines of environmental related business.

B. MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties may include but are not limited to:

a. Solicits new and renewal submissions from brokers

b. Determines terms and conditions and complex rating plans

c. Binds coverage

d. Documents the underwriting files

e. Handles more complex files and portfolios within underwriting authority

f. Guides and mentors junior staff

C. SCOPE

a. Anticipated underwriting territory will consist of wholesale brokers located throughout the Midwestern US

D. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

* 5-7 years underwriting experience

* Experience underwriting and/or brokering multiple lines of Environmental Insurance

* Bachelor’s degree

* Background in environmental consulting/contracting is a plus.

E. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Knowledge of insurance industry

* Knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, and procedures

* Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

* Internet usage

* Oral and written communication skills

* Negotiation skills

* Marketing skills
