Sutter Amador Hospital, and the facility from which it got its roots, has served area residents as far back as the mid- 1800s. Today, the not-for-profit Sutter Amador Hospital has 66 licensed beds and is the only hospital in Amador County, serving a population of more than 42,000. In 1990, Sutter Health began management services of the hospital and in 1993 Sutter Amador Hospital became an affiliate of Sutter Health. The hospital is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

Sutter Amador Hospital has a rich history of providing care for residents and visitors of Amador County since 1876 and is the only hospital in Amador County serving a population over 40,000. Today, the 66-bed, acute care facility offers a full range of services including 24-hour emergency services with fast track, surgery, ob/gyn, diagnostic imaging, clinical laboratory, cardiology, gastroenterology, diabetes education and pediatrics. We will continue to be here for our community well into the future.



The Ultrasound TechnologistII/III combines technical and clinical knowledge to produce diagnostic quality scans and tests to demonstrate presence or absence of disease, progress of fetal growth, interventional procedures such as aspirations and biopsies, and non- invasive vascular exams for subsequent evaluation by attending physicians and radiologists. Must be able to work independently and be available to participate in on-call rotation.The Ultrasound Tecnologist II/III provides service to all patient areas. Current ARDMS Certification in General Ultrasound Technology.Current BLS certification for health care providers. Additional current certification in Echo or Vascular technology with proficiency. Ability to perform General, OB, and Noninvasive Vascular Studies (including Carotids).Minimum of 3-5 years in ultrasound capacity as certified technologist in general ultrasound.
Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of basic anatomy,have a full working knowledge of ultrasound equipment, scan methods,clinical conditions encountered in abdominal, OB/GYN,vascular and ECHO sonography. Must demonstrate skill in using multiple types of equipment and transducers to obtain optimal scans and tests.Good working knowledge of Windows based computers and software.
