Job Description: Associate Psychologist V The Associate Psychologist V will be hired and directly supervised administratively and professionally by the Director of Dual Diagnosis Services. The Associate Psychologist V will be accountable to the Director of Dual Diagnosis Services for the delivery of psychological services, including counseling, staff training, and psychological consultation. He/she is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating counseling treatment plans; staff training; data collection and reporting; and program evaluation. The Associate Psychologist V will primarily provide direct counseling services to individuals with developmental disabilities as well as severe mental illness and/or forensic issues. He/she will also provide clinical training and feedback to staff responsible for providing psycho-educational programming for these individuals. The Associate Psychologist V may be required to work with clients who are violent. The work schedule may vary based upon service needs. The Associate Psychologist V works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. |

Essential Job Functions: Under supervision of the Director of Dual Diagnosis Services, performs all aspects of the development and implementation of counseling treatment plans to meet the recognized needs of assigned clients; provides staff training necessary to support services; consults with other staff regarding their assigned clients; writes professional reports regarding client psychological status, response to treatment, psychological service needs and treatment recommendations; reports to administrative and professional supervisor on a continuing basis the status of delivery of psychological services to assigned clients. In the discharge of all duties, maintains a professional bearing, adheres to current standards of professional conduct, and maintains professional standards in quality of work . |

Knowledge Skills Abilities: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job functions successfully: Knowledge of: applied psychology and related disciplines, applied behavior analysis, mental retardation, treatment of behavior and psychiatric disorders for persons with mental retardation, dual diagnosis for persons with mental retardation, basics of psychoactive medication treatment of mental disorders in persons with mental retardation, treatment techniques and practices for persons with mental retardation; ICF/MR regulations. Ability to: teach others, analyze behavioral deficits, develop counseling treatment plans addressing client behavior and psychiatric disorders, develop data collection and monitoring systems to assess treatment efficacy and integrity; maintain client records. Ability to work cooperatively with others. |

Registration or Licensure Requirements: This position requires a master's degree which is psychological in nature from an accredited university or college, with at least two years postgraduate experience in counseling or psychotherapy with individuals who have developmental disabilities, severe mental illness, and/or forensic issues. Licensure as a Professional Counselor, Psychological Associate, or Clinical Social Worker required (LPC preferred). |

Initial Selection Criteria: A Master’s degree in psychology or related field from an accredited college or university. Licensure as a Psychological Associate, Professional Counselor, or Clinical Social Worker. |
