Sustaining Engineer: Veraz Networks

Job Summary:

The Sustaining Engineer will design and develop test plans and test cases for assigned areas of Veraz Softswitch Platform. He/she will perform all aspects of verification and validation including functional, regression testing using test tools and automation. This will include documenting, troubleshooting and isolating problems encountered in customer networks during testing, as well as performing bug tracking/verification. The Sustaining Engineer will need to understand the customer requirements and work closely with the engineering team to reproduce the problems reported by the customers and provide all the logs. It will be necessary to perform periodic regression tests to verify the sanity of the product patch releases and automate the test cases for BAT (Basic Acceptance Testing). He/she will be working with other members of the team to improve our processes, tools, methods, effectiveness and efficiency. This position is located in San Jose, California.

Experience/Skills:

We are looking for a minimum of 5-8 years cumulative sustaining experience managing telecom/VoIP Products. A strong technical background coupled with in-depth experience of testing any one or more of VoIP (SIP/H.323/H.248) and any one of TDM (SS7/ISDN/CAS) protocols is necessary. Familiarity and good experience in testing with test tools like Tektronix Spectra / Spectra2 and experience with any standard test tool for testing SS7/ISDN/CAS protocols are important skills. Extensive background in QA/Sustaining Engineering methodologies and experience developing and executing comprehensive test suites for system software is important to qualify for the position. Experience with scripting languages like Perl, Expect is an additional plus. Oracle, PL/SQL experience is a plus. The ability to troubleshoot Software/Hardware configuration problems and customer issues is important. We are looking for demonstrated ability to handle/organize multiple technical projects simultaneously.
