Sr. Software Developer: AS3/Flex
Location: Research Triangle Park, NC
We provide a studio grade video monetization solution that allows video content to be published and distributed across multiple venues. The Sr. Software Engineer position will report to an engineering team lead or directly to Engineering Management and is responsible for the design & implementation of software products & services. Candidates should have a BS in Computer Science or related technical field of study. Minimum (3) years work experience using Flex/ActionScript. (5) Years experience with software engineering. Familiarity & passionate desire to work with Flex/ActionScript may be accepted in lieu of (3) years of experience for the right candidate. Fast-paced early-stage environment with tight deadlines.
Responsibilities:
· Deliver state of the art, engaging, high quality products.
· Design & implementation of product initiatives with basic supervision
· Calculate accurate estimates & participate in daily task documentation activities
· Adhere to core development, design & testing principles set by team leadership
· Produce concise & thorough technical documentation
· Additional duties as needed
Job Qualifications & Requirements:
· Demonstrated expertise in Flex, AS3, MXML, & Flash runtime or equivalent UI development platform experience
· Demonstrated competence in at least one additional programming language other than Flex/ActionScript
· Experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) & Object-Oriented Design (OOD)
· Excellent oral & written communication skills
Desirable Skills & Technologies:
· Experience with MVC (PureMVC, Cairngorm, PureMVC, Spring, Mate, etc).
· Knowledge of software architecture & design patterns
· Experience with writing Flex custom components
· Experience in Web service development using SOAP, AMF, XML-RPC, XML & REST
· Digital media experience (FLV, FFMPEG, MP3, MPEG4, WMV, AAC, 3GP, etc)
· Experience with SVN source control or equilvilent
· Experience with defect management / bug tracking
· Bugzilla experience is a plus
· Knowledgeable Exposure to Agile Development (Lean, SCRUM)
