 | Project Manager for Video Product Development Job Description:
Responsibilities Reporting to the Director of Video Product Development, within the Interactive Media Products team, the Project Manager for Video Product Development is a key member of NBC Universal's Interactive Media Product Development Team within the Technology Growth Center. In this position, the Project Manager is extensively involved in the evolution of the company's Video Products, which includes online video, both streaming and download, Electronic-Sell-Through and Download-to-Own media platforms, including the NBC Direct consumer video download offering, as well as User Generated Video and working with the Mobile team as it relates to mobile video.
Responsible for creating and managing project plans
Crafting and distributing detailed meeting notes and related action plans
Coordinating internal and external teams (design, technology, QA, legal and sourcing,etc.), so as to ensure project success
Executing on the overall product vision, established by the video product team lead.
Coordinate project efforts which include DRM/encryption, video publishing, software development, quality assurance, customer support, design and others
Drive "best practices" by implementing standard, repeatable, reliable practices to achieve efficiencies and meet launch deadlines -- including coordination between groups in a matrix organization, to ensure project requirement & business priorities/expectations have been properly set.
Interfaces with NBCU Media Works technologists and technology partners to deliver interactive video products related to various business solutions for all NBCU business units including NBC, NBCU Cable Networks, Universal Studios, NBC Owned & Operated Stations and NBCU Television Distribution.

At least two years experience with project management within software development and Media Technology (including creation and management of project plans, and usage of project management tools, such as MS Project, Rally and/or Basecamp)
At least one year of experience with digital video encoding and compression software, digital rights management administration and network distribution including peer-to-peer delivery
Well versed in project management skills to plan, schedule and monitor resources, deadlines and costs of multiple interrelated or independent projects

Familiarity with current content storefront platforms such as NBC Direct, Microsoft's Windows Media Center, Apple's iTunes, and Amazon Unbox, and other online video products used with other online companies
1+ years Experience with broadcast television networks and keen understanding of the television business
1+ years Experience with broadcast television technology (character generators, scheduling systems, encoders, etc,)
PMP certification or equivalent project management certification
Strong oral communication and presentation skills; comfortable in interacting with senior executives both internally and externally
Ability to adapt quickly and creatively to any situation; ability to adapt project management processes to suite the project and/or environment
Excellent organizational skills
Strong project management and analysis / problem solving skills
