Ikaria is currently seeking a highly qualified Medical Science Liaison for our St. Louis/Memphis Territory.
Reporting to the Manager, Medical Affairs, the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will represent Ikaria and its products, with key opinion leaders, clinicians, academic institutions, and professional organizations. They will address the specific needs of these customers by responding to unsolicited requests for information about our marketed and developing products.
Scope of Responsibilities:
• Write a strategic business plan for his/her territory that reflects the corporate Medical Affairs Team goals and integrates these with other relevant departments. • Identify, develop, and maintain collaborative relationships with clinicians who are recognized as key opinion leaders in their respective therapeutic area(s). • Stay informed of current literature, clinical trends, and new or emerging technology to maximize timely and relevant information exchange between the company and the medical community. Actively participates in ongoing training and internal meetings. • Attend national and regional medical meetings and symposia as a representative of INO Therapeutics and engage in discussions with attendees as appropriate, attend scientific sessions and poster presentations, gather information, and summarize findings. As possible and when appropriate cultivate professional relationships from these contacts. • Deliver fair-balanced and objective clinical and scientific presentations to healthcare professionals in response to unsolicited requests for information on the use of company products. This may include developing the presentations. • Identify and train speakers for advisory boards, symposia, and educational programs with regulatory approved materials, slides sets, abstracts, posters, etc. • Organize and carry out regional advisory board initiatives. • Provide input to management regarding alternative therapies, business development opportunities/risks, and customer feedback • Facilitate the submission of applications for unrestricted educational grants or research initiatives and request for support of studies, per company policy. • Rotate weekend call for emergency medical inquiries and request for emergency therapy. |
| Position Requirements: |
A bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, with experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare education environment is required. A graduate or medical professional degree and experience in a similar role is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience developing and conducting presentations is essential to the success of this position. This is a field based position, which includes up to 60% travel.
