ASSISTANT CITY ASSESSOR

The Assistant City Assessor supports the City Assessor in directing and coordinating the activities of the Assessing Department. Supervise staff, perform complex appraisals of commercial and industrial properties, and fulfills the responsibilities of the City Assessor during absence. Requires a Bachelors degree or equivalent in real estate assessment, taxation, municipal finance, accounting, or related field. Michigan Level III Certification with the ability to obtain Level IV Certification within 24 months of appointment. 7+ years experience in assessment administration with 5+ years increasingly responsible experience in a comparable municipal environment, involving complex commercial and industrial assessments, Michigan Tax Tribunal, and Assessing technology; Previous supervisory and administrative experience/training. A valid Michigan Driver's License and ability to meet the City's driving standards. Applicants will be subject to a driving record and criminal history background check. The Salary range: $61,173 - $75,294 DOQ plus benefits.
