Foster-Miller resides in QNA's Technology Solutions Group. We are focused on the delivery of high tech research services and development of defense and security-related products to the U.S. defense, civilian government, and commercial markets.

Foster-Miller/Qinetiq is currently recruiting a Business Development Manager in the Materials Technology Group at our Waltham, MA location.

Summary:
This position will provide business development for the Material Technology Group's (MTG) core and future businesses and provides government marketing for MTG's areas and technologies.

Responsibilities:
The individual will work with senior business development staff to develop business development strategies and in selected technology areas, either establishing contacts or utilizing his/her present contacts within targeted markets to accomplish goals. This includes understanding the government market, building business relationships with technology leaders in MTG and government program decision-makers, identifying and qualifying business opportunities, positioning Foster-Miller for bidding (including developing teaming relationships, analyzing the competition, and developing win strategies), developing and tracking a pipeline of targets, and working with the capture and proposal teams to win new federal business.

Qualifications:
This position requires proven experience in marketing technology and business development leadership for the federal government market. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, able to demonstrate a track record of identifying, qualifying, pursuing, and winning federal contracts, as well as developing and managing a pipeline of targets and opportunities to support strategic growth objectives. A strong technical background is a requirement with at least a Bachelor of Science or Engineering with an advanced degree preferred. Additionally, a current understanding of the federal market and its challenges and working relationships with government personnel and/or officials will be an advantage. He/She will have specific experience and knowledge preferably in one or more of the following agencies: the U.S. Department of Defense, the National Institute of Hearth, NASA; and/or the DOE. He/she must be able to present and clearly articulate ideas and solutions to key decision-makers, both internally within Foster-Miller and externally to prospective customers. Qualified candidates must demonstrate an ability to develop competitive teaming relationships and win strategies, as well as working as a team player in the capture and proposal development part of the process. This person must have excellent speaking and writing skills and be able to deliver effective briefings/oral presentations. A strong belief in and practice of the highest level of ethical behavior are essential
