ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST (Chemical production): The Albrecht Group

Our client, a leading specialty chemical producer, is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist to support compliance with regulations associated with solid, hazardous and in-ground materials. The Environmental Specialist participates in the development and implementation of plant-level programs to assure compliance with federal, state and local regulations and standards, as well as those of the company.

Our client is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist to provide oversight of remediation activities, and to work closely with maintenance and facilities management on capital projects.

This position is located in the Houston , Texas area.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Assist in the implementation and management of regulatory compliance programs
• Support the facilities management and EH&S management as the “go-to” expert on leak detection & repair, storm water runoff, air regulatory compliance and other environmental regulatory and compliance issues.
• Coordinate activities and programs throughout the plant to ensure compliance with corporate, as well as federal, state and local regulations and procedures.
• Coordinate environmental compliance programs related to solid & hazardous waste management.
• Foster a favorable image with communities, regulatory agencies and other companies with active involvement with state, local and federal environmental compliance outreach programs.
• Develop and implement employee environmental training programs
• Manage all documentation, reporting and permitting activities associated with environmental regulatory compliance.
• Implement and oversee internal environmental compliance audits.

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

• BS Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years experience
• Working knowledge of Title V environmental regulations, and state requirements.
• Working knowledge of water and hazardous waste regulations, as well as remediation operations a plus.
