
Responsibilities/Description: An Aerodynamics Design Engineer provides expertise and technical support to manufacturing, sales, product engineering, development engineering, field service, and service centers. The qualified individual will guide the centrifugal compressor design, perform advanced aerodynamic/thermodynamic analysis, guide 3rd party contractors, and participate in quality improvement and cost reduction efforts. This position can be based in Houston, TX or Olean, NY.
Qualifications: Required B.S. Degree in Aerodynamics, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. 7+ years of previous industry experience. Solid experience in compressor/turbine design Good understanding of Aerodynamics and Thermodynamics, specifically related to the performance prediction of centrifugal/axial compressors and axial turbines. Experience in designing all the Aero compressor/turbine components (inlets, side-streams, impellers, diffusers, return, channels, volutes, etc…) using 1-D, 2-D and 3-D analysis tools.

Job Specific Responsibilities/Qualifications: Willing to perform a wide variety of tasks associated with turbomachinery design and analysis. Such as designing all the Aero compressor/turbine components (inlets, side-streams, impellers, diffusers, return, channels, volutes, etc…) using 1-D, 2-D and 3-D analysis tools. Ability to clearly and precisely communicate, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization and with clients. Self-motivated, well organized and able to prioritize work. Must be technically detail oriented professional with skills in advanced analysis; solving complex problems; decision making; planning; managing multiple projects; leading, and meeting stringetn customer deadlines. Must have solid interpersonal skills, be a team player, and be committed to mentoring, training, and guiding employees, while maintaining meaningful relationships within the organization. Must be able to work independently or as part of a team. Must be willing to learn and be cross-trained to support various product lines (turbines/compressors, design/analysis/programming).
