Equipment Operator II
Boulder County Road Maintenance Division has an opening for an Equipment Operator II.
Examples of Duties:
Based in Nederland, responsibilities will include: operating light and medium equipment such as tandem-axle trucks, front-end loaders, backhoes, and other equipment used for construction, snow removal, maintenance and repair of County roads; servicing and making minor repairs and adjustments to assigned equipment; checking and reporting present or anticipated mechanical problems of assigned equipment; performing manual labor as a crew member with construction and maintenance projects; training and giving instructions to other employees; may train on heavy equipment; and performing related duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience operating road maintenance equipment or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience operating equipment with 13-speed transmission and experience with diesel equipment preferred.
Must have a valid "Class B" Commercial Driver's license with air brake endorsement and a good driving record and be able to obtain a Class A license within six months of hire. Must be available to work outside of normal working hours and weekends as required. Job offer is contingent on passing a pre-employment physical and agility test, a driving skills test, and drug screen. Must provide a current Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) prior to interview. Must meet all Colorado and Federal Motor Carrier regulation requirements.
