Our rapidly-expanding clinical research division offers patients access to the latest investigational therapies as well as assuring patients of high-quality care by monitoring the outcomes of our efforts.
Position: We have a full time Nurse Practitioner opportunity. The Nurse Practitioner performs history and physical assessments, provides ongoing care for patients with cancer. The hematology/oncology nurse practitioner should demonstrate expertise in the clinical management of these patients. The role includes clinical management of the hematology/oncology population, educational responsibilities, call coverage, coordination of specialty clinics and initiating/implementing research. The candidate would work in collaboration with nursing and support services to provide family centered care. The oncology nurse practitioner maintains active participation in his/her own continued education, certification and professional development.
The incumbent will have knowledge of physical assessment in oncology, procedures and patient care. Excellent communication and patient teaching skills required. Experience in oncology patient management, research protocols and nursing education is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess qualities that include value and respect for teamwork, professionalism, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a commitment to excellent patient care.
Qualifications: Must be able to independently practice and manage complex patient population in a fast-paced environment. The incumbent must be knowledgeable about current evidenced based practice, chemotherapy toxicities, quality improvement, research, and able to partner with multiple disciplines. Must be graduate of an approved Nurse Practitioner program and MA license (or eligible) is required. Oncology experience and certification is preferred.
