The Company

Our client is a defense conglomerate with a facility in Tallahassee , FL. They are seeking an experienced Research Chemist

The Opportunity

The Research Chemist will be responsible for exercising considerable discretion and judgment in the selection, application and modification of standard procedures and equipment involved in analyzing raw material, pollution samples, process samples and propellants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning analyses and design of experimental apparatus for all special testing.
  • Communicate recommendations with personnel on projects and equipment for the lab.
  • Design and develop new and improved testing methods that will improve the quality and/or accuracy of testing.
  • Be responsible for all testing and safety of the lab.
  • Evaluate all test data to ensure its validity and maintain records.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
  • 3 - 5 years of chemical lab experience.
  • Familiarity with FTIR, LC, GC and AA instruments.
  • BATFE Clearance required.
