PROGRAMMER ANALYST SPECIALIST, CLINIC APPLICATIONS

Job Description

Position Profile
Senior member of the Information Services team, providing experience, knowledge and leadership to the enterprise-wide implementation and ongoing maintenance of Clinic Applications, including Allscripts AEHR and GE Centricity Business (IDX Flowcast), and associated applications, including SmartTalk. Communicates directly with, and provides input to, management.

Provides leadership, analysis, design, troubleshooting, testing, implementation and routine job support, as required. Leads and/or provides application expertise for input to various committees and projects and other members of the Clinic Applications. Works with end-users on process improvement. When applicable, coordinates and directs activities of, and/or provides support for, consultants, contractors, and other I/S resources. Serves as the primary liaison with Allscripts and GE support for problem resolution and request activities. Responsible for data extracts, data scrubbing and data conversions. Writes custom reports from Allscripts and/or GE Centricity Business data. Performs other tasks as assigned. Ensures attainment of organizational goals by effectively planning and coordinating projects with internal as well as external customers, and ensures that all activities are performed at a level of quality consistent with departmental standards. Acts independently to achieve these objectives while remaining open to management and end-user input.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Services environment


Minimum 7 years experience in an Information Services setting.

Knowledge and documented experience to include:

Allscripts and/or GE Centricity Business/IDX application.
Database concepts
Report writing concepts
Project management tools and techniques.

Ability to work individually and with a team, create and meet deadlines.

Ability to deal with multiple high priority issues simultaneously.

Prior installation and conversion experience
Group facilitation skills necessary
Excellent problem solving, decision-making, excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Training and/or presentation skills necessary
Process creation and documentation experience necessary
Competency in Word / Excel / PowerPoint / Access / Outlook


2 years in a healthcare environment preferred.

Knowledge of GE Centricity Business/IDX AES/MUMPS a plus

Knowledge of GE Centricity/IDX DBMS a plus

Management or leadership role experience a plus
