Job Description
•Localization of components and parts in US •Liaison between the process partners for exterior/powertrain/chassis engineering in Chattanooga and the exterior/powertrain/chassis engineering (EKK, EA, EF) in the R&D department in Wolfsburg/Germany and the plant requirements •Responsible for a responsive support of EKK, EA, EF in all areas potentially harming or delaying the launch and ramp up of the VW MNS vehicle in Chattanooga •Support for installation of R&D structure and workflow in Chattanooga
Role Responsibilities
• Active risk management regarding all exterior/powertrain/chassis parts in cooperation with Development Department in Wolfsburg/Germany, purchasing and external suppliers.
• Be a communication link between VW R&D Germany and various agencies of VWGoA like Purchase, SRM, Program Management, Logistics, Assembly, Production
• Participation in the creation and operation of a joint exterior/powertrain/chassis competence center with Pilothalle, quality assurance and production in Chattanooga
• Hands on assistance in the analysis and in resolving any exterior/powertrain/chassis issues in the ramp up and operation of the plant
• Develop strategies to further utilize the local supplier market to increase the amount of local and minority content and optimize the cost structure of the vehicles built in Chattanooga in close collaboration with other entities in Chattanooga and the American Volkswagen organization
• Execute an active information policy on the Chattanooga operation towards lower and higher management in Wolfsburg
• AEKO: maintain a status, assist in resolution, follow up for the implementation
• BMG release: ensure right-time release of the parts and of BMG testing assemblies, ensure right part availability for BMG testing, assess and report the part/assembly validation status regularly.
