Tire Performance Test Driver - Engineer: Goodyear

Department Description:
The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company's Product Evaluation Department is responsible for the testing needs of all the tires developed in its North American Innovation Center including passenger, light truck, aircraft, radial medium truck, race and off-road construction tires. Testing facilities include test labs and a test track in Proving Grounds in San Angelo , TX .

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
The Driver-Engineer position will require coordinating and running vehicle performance tests on a variety of vehicle types. Performance tests include but are not exclusive to wet and dry handling, tire noise evaluations and ride comfort testing. This Driver position will be based at the San Angelo , TX Proving Grounds. The position will require traveling approximately 30% of the time. Candidate must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally.

Candidates should possess good oral and written communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment within the Testing Organization as well as with the Tire Development groups, OE Customers, and Marketing. The Driver-Engineer is expected to function as the testing liaison between the project managers and the testing technicians to define vehicle needs and effectively get the testing done on time.

Qualifications:
Required-
* BS or higher level degree in Engineering or Technical Science
*Basic understanding of automotive functions and vehicle dynamics with an interest in performance test driving
*Some previous performance driving experience
* Willing and able to travel domestic and internationally 30% of the time
* Good written and oral communication skills
* Ability to work in a team
