Responsibilities: 1. Provides individualized, goal directed care utilizing the nursing process. The professional nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate all patient care activities in accordance to the Wyoming State Nurse Practice Act and function within the parameters of the Registered Nurse role summary. 2. Directs, supervise, and evaluates the quality of nursing care provided within the emergency department. Actively participates in identifying and implementing activities and/ or planned changes to improve the quality of services provided. 3. Develops, implements, reviews, and revises all Emergency Department policies, procedures and protocols in accordance to Wyoming nurse Practice Act, Emergency Nursing Standards of Practice and Care, Wyoming Trauma Regulations, and JCAHO. Promotes and ensures compliance with established professional, regulatory and legal guidelines of Emergency Nursing practice. 4. Coordinates, directs, and participates in the orientation process and education of all employees functioning within the department. Provides constructive clinical and professional feedback on all employees' current performance utilizing the evaluation process, promoting and encouraging staff involvement in the identification and development of professional and personal goals. Serves as a role model demonstrating effective communication skills in a constructive and positive manner and maintains knowledge, skill and professional competence in Emergency Nursing Care serving as a clinical resource for personnel functioning within the department. 5. Is responsible for creating and maintaining an appropriate budget for the department. Actively participates in the PI process. Is involved in research, planning, and developing new services that are appropriate for our clientele. 6. Functions in the role of Trauma coordinator and is responsible for the Trauma registry and complying with all State regulation.
Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Minimum of 5 years emergency nursing experience. Wyoming nursing license. Bachelor degree preferred. ACLS, TNCC, CPR, ENPC certifications preferred. Previous management experience preferred. Demonstrates behaviors consistent with BHS values, management expectations, and service standards. YAHOOSMART
