Job Details Job Description Operates and maintains bailing equipment to bind trimmings and paper waste received from the Press/Bindery equipment. Responsibilities - Removes jams from baler and cyclone. Makes minor repairs to the baler. Changes bag and filter when necessary.
- Maintains supplies needed for the baler room and obtains new supplies when necessary.
- Collects paper waste from manufacturing areas and loads baler.
- Removes bale from machine and stacks on skid using forklift.
- Segregates, straps and stores bales based on type and grade.
- Weighs each bale, records weight and stock type, and loads bales onto trucks using forklift..
- Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out - tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policies.
- Keeps and maintains Baler tracking logs and reports
- Keeps and maintains a neat and organized work area.
- Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
Required Skills - Ability to safely and efficiently operate the baler equipment is required.
- Ability to lift and place up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Must have a mechanical aptitude with ability to perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot and make minor repairs on equipment when needed.
- Ability to read and accurately record scale readings and equipment gauges and dials.
- Ability to operate basic hand tools required.
- Ability to work in a team environment required.
- Ability to meet shift attendance requirements is a must.
- Must be able to work overtime when necessary.
Required Experience Qualified candidate will have one to three years of experience as a Baler Operator in a manufacturing environment, and certified forklift experience in a manufacturing environment. RR Donnelley is an EEO/AA Employer
