Healthy Streets Outreach Worker

Description: SUMMARY
Performs the prevention, education, and outreach tasks as outlined below, as well as specific functions which are determined by time-limited and ongoing grant obligations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES All CAB employees are expected to be familiar and comply with the agency's policies and procedures which are presented in the employee handbook. CAB places a high value on its stated principles of positive customer/consumer relations. Full compliance with federal regulations regarding client confidentiality is critical to CAB operating principles. The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Conducts street outreach activities to Intravenous Drug Users for both Spanish and English speaking clients.

2. Distributes HIV risk reduction materials including written materials, condoms, and bleach kits.

3. Facilitates harm reduction groups to members of priority population in both Spanish and English.

4. Assures coordination with other HIV and prevention and treatment related programs.

5. Orders and monitors program supplies.
Requirements: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor level education or equivalent experience required. Demonstrated involvement with community level planning and development activities required. Language Skills: Bi-lingual in Spanish/English CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Massachusetts Drivers License
