Minimum Experience/Education: Position requires a M.S. degree in agriculture/ecology/environmental management, and additional experience with data management, statistical software, field work, or invasive or endangered species management. Superior analysis and writing skills are desired.

Essential Job Duties: The individual will engage in research in support of USDA/APHIS/PPQ/PERAL and CIPM cooperative activities related to the collection and analysis of invasive species data with application to early warning systems for plant health.

The successful applicant will design and conduct advanced queries for data mining systems; develop, edit, analyze and manipulate data; enter information into database systems.

This position will focus on expanding the knowledge base of the Global Pest and Disease Database, Offshore Pest Information System, and the NAPPO Phytosanitary Alert System. Individual will be required to work with others in a team environment.

Other Work/Responsibilities: Additional opportunities in the areas of pest risk analysis, international trade regulation and invasive/endangered species interactions may be available for highly qualified applicants.

Necessary Licenses or Certifications: Valid Driver's License. NC Driver's License obtained within 60 days of hire.
