Radio Repair Technician Position Available

Advanced Radio Technology is a division of HEC Electronics, Inc., an Ohio corporation serving the 2-way communications industry for over 50 years. We are expanding our service department and have a full time position available for a qualified technician. We offer a great working environment, and an excellent benefits package. Our primary business is two-way radio communications concentrating in Land Mobile Radio, Specialized Mobile Radio, Avionics Radio, Paging and Cellular Carrier Maintenance Services. We also provide Trunked Communications Systems for police/fire/military/government users.

General Responsibilities:

The following is a brief list of some of the general responsibilities for this position. It is understood that these general responsibilities are not inclusive of all of the responsibilities that this position requires.

o Efficiently and independently repair, program, and tune many types of radio equipment such as Harris, Ma/Com, GE, Motorola, Icom, Kenwood, Vertex, EF Johnson, Zetron.
o Efficiently and independently install radio equipment into buildings, tower sites, and vehicles. Maintain positive customer relations.
o Troubleshoot customer communications equipment and systems to determine which board or component is defective and replace as needed.
o Perform routine service calls, and onsite repair of equipment.
o Test and clean equipment, submit parts orders as necessary.
o Triage incoming units, and complete bench repairs.
o Maintain high power paging transmitters.
o Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

o Minimum 1 years of experience working with commercial two-way radios.
o Proficiency with basic office software: Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
o Ability to climb stairs and small towers as needed.
o Knowledge of multiple trunking communications formats, LTR, Edacs, P25, Astro, Motorola Type I, II, IIi
o Ability to lift heavy equipment such as repeaters and antennas as needed.
o Soldering skills required.
o Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
o Ability to pass FAA and DOD security background checks
o Must have, and maintain clean driving record.
o Ability to pass pre employment drug screening, and random drug screenings.
