Bad Boys Bail Bonds, Inc. is the one of the fastest and largest growing bail bonds company in California. The company has been in business for eleven years with multiple offices in California and has experienced substantial growth.

As the second largest bail bond company in California, we are currently seeking an In House Corporate Counsel for our corporate office in San Jose, CA. The ideal candidate for the In House Corporate Counsel is someone who has at least 6-8 years of relevant legal experience (both law firm and in-house experience preferred). This role requires a seasoned attorney specializing in employment and civil litigation in California. The perfect candidate should be someone with excellent attention to detail, outstanding legal judgment, good business sense and a background of the company in all employment and civil litigation matter.

Requirements:

-6-8 years of employment and civil litigation experience at a national law firm or reputable boutique employment litigation firm in California (both law firm and in-house experience preferred).

-Excellent knowledge of CA employment laws and regulations (FLSA, ADA, FMLA, etc)

- Excellent writing skills, deposition experience, filing motions, investigation, counseling and administrative court experience.


- Previous clients were based companies in
California, is a plus.


- Confidence to work with little supervision.

- Membership in the California Bar and license in good standing.

-Must be able to function independently; work proactively as well as collaboratively and cross-functionally with the executive team, and have excellent interface skills.

-Must be able to meet quarterly driven timetables and deadlines.

-Must be able to travel 25-50% of the time.

-Knowledge of Bail Law a plus

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

-Provides primary legal support and counsel to the Human Resource and Legal Department

-Managed the legal department

-Provides day-to-day legal advice to all members of the executive team such as employment issues, civil litigations, depositions, filing motions, and other legal matters.

- Structures, drafts and negotiates a variety of contracts and other transactions for the company.

-Assist with developing contract, company policy, process and templates where appropriate.

-Supports compliance related matters, investigates and provides dispute management support and resolution. Identifies and manages conflicts and potential conflicts and provides dispute resolution, management and support.

- Develops relevant training materials and presents to groups.

-Communicates new laws or policies as required, with particular employment and civil litigation matter.

-Addresses potential risks to reduce company exposure.

- Provides legal support for some or all aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and strategic relationships, e.g. pipeline and planning stages through integration.
